Meridian can assist companies to plan for going forward with their domestic and/or overseas IPO; and Meridian is one of the few firms in Taiwan capable of handling IPO ventures in the F stock market. Meridian can also advise on the numerous aspects of legal compliance and preparation filings leading to IPO and/or OTC, as well as advising on the compliance with securities regulations after IPO and/or OTC. Likewise, Meridian is able to assist companies in other related ventures, such as carrying out cash capital increase/decrease, issuing secured or unsecured corporate bonds; as well as helping companies to go through delisting or delisting through buyback.

- Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs)
Planning and Acquisition of IPRs
Meridian assists clients to apply and acquire for various types of IPRs, including patent and trademark rights, and the planning and protection for copyrights and business trade secrets. Meridian can also advise clients to develop strategic planning for mapping out patents and trademarks both at home and globally, and assist in the corresponding application and registration processes.
Purchasing/Licensing/Management of IPRs
Meridian is well experienced in helping clients to negotiate for purchasing and/or licensing of IPRs, either as the licensor or the licensee; and can help clients to strategically manage deployment of IPRs both at home and globally.
Dispute Resolution of IPR Issues
Meridian is experienced in defending against IPR infringement cases. In particular, Meridian was retained to handle an infringement claim, and won the case in 2016 in which the Intellectual Property Court awarded the highest amount of damages so far among the domestic cases. In addition to going to the court, Meridian is also familiar with and can advise and provide assistance to clients seeking alternative legal recourses to address their IPR-related issues.
- Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology
Meridian is familiar with Taiwan’s laws and regulations governing medical establishments/treatment/insurance, pharmaceuticals, food and health food, cosmetic products and biotechnology industry.

Meridian has been acting as the legal adviser for hospitals and physicians’ associations. Further, Meridian can assist in establishing medical corporations, providing legal consulting services to hospitals and clinics, and has the experience of helping to settle national health insurance disputes and medical disputes.
Pharmaceuticals & Pharmaceutical Industry
Meridian has been the legal adviser for the pharmaceutical association and the pharmaceutical agents’ association, and also provides legal study service for the R&D-oriented pharmaceutical industry, based on the experience of having had achieved certain level of familiarity with the research and development, manufacturing and marketing practices of the pharmaceutical industry.

Meridian assists clients in planning for bidding to participate in public construction projects, and provides legal consulting service to the construction industry in general. Meridian has also provided suggestions to the government departments regarding how to better streamline and make the government procurement procedure and regulations more effective to promote greater civil participation.
Meridian is experienced in advising and representing both the private entities and government agencies in disputes relating to construction and/or government procurement regulations, either in the traditional court setting, via administrative appeals, and/or by recourse to the alternative dispute resolution option, depending on whichever route offers the most rapid and satisfactory solution to the client.

The Attorneys at Meridian have acted as the keynote speaker and mentor for the national innovative entrepreneur incubation programs, and have accumulated nearly twenty years of experience in helping to handle the related intellectual property rights and innovative business practices, and providing legal services to dozens of innovative enterprises. Further, Meridian also advises the newly starting innovative clients on the important legal and business issues regarding the planning for the company type, capital amount and location of the establishment, helping the client to devise on the shareholding structure, shareholders’ contribution agreement, and employees’ subscription plan, etc., as well as advising the client to give due consideration to the protection of the client’s innovative ideas with sound recommendation and assistance to file for the suitable IPR protection measures.
- Labor Relations
Meridian advises on the labor regulations from the balanced standpoints of both the employers and the employees, in which harmonizing labor relations is one of the utmost concerns in addressing labor/employment disputes. Meridian helps companies to formulate the company policies and regulations, both as an indispensable means for operating a thriving business, as well as for compliance with the legal requirements; the retained tasks would include such as assistance to draw up workplace-related policies, employment-related policies and contracts, and to advise on the general compliance with the latest promulgated regulations; one example would be the latest “one fixed day off, one flexible rest day” legal requirements imposed on all businesses, and which businesses would require sophisticated legal guidance to ensure compliance with the law. In addition to being able to help clients to address ordinary real estate issues, including such as disputes involving seller/buyer, landlord/tenant and/or as between neighbors, etc., Meridian is also familiar with the zoning-related regulations and has accumulated certain level of experience in handling land, building and urban planning/re-zoning issues, and historical/memorial sites zoning dispute, among others.

一、資本市場業務:本所協助委託人規劃公司於境內或境外的上市業務，為台灣數家曾輔導F股上市的事務所之一。本所提供委託人於公司上市櫃前法規遵循與準備工作。提供委託人於公司上市櫃後有關遵循證券法規之諮詢服務，協助辦理現金增資、發行有擔或無擔公司債之發行募集作業，並有處理公司終止上市、買回下市經驗。
二、投資業務:本所協助委託人辦理上市櫃公司依法公開收購、股權交換、國內投資、國外投資、國內外併購、國內外合資各類業務的相關法令諮詢、契約之草擬及審查的法律顧問工作。近年本所在證券事業、保險事業、醫療事業、藥品事業、生技事業、不動產事業、礦產資源事業、兩岸可合作之事業，均為委託人提供完善之法律服務。
三、金融科技法規:本所協助委託人推動設立金融與非金融新創平台及各類相關業務的法律諮詢、契約之草擬及審查的法律顧問工作。
